In June 2020 I made a zine with the first 12 photos in this collection. I added 3 more images from my bike ride through Niagra-on-the-lake that did not make it into print to this digital version. Following is the artist statement inside the back cover of the zine:

For the past three months, I have been quarantined with my mother's side of the family in Toronto. Three months is more than enough time for the dust to settle and I do not remember when it did. That is a blessing. Three months also allows little rituals of keeping in touch to gradually be overlooked and eventually forgotten. I wanted to express how this felt as it happened mutually over many physically distanced relationships.

At a certain point, it becomes exhausting to keep afloat patterns of virtual conversation and so we rest by blending into our respective physical worlds. I have learned to not resist this—to trust that neither I nor my loved ones are being erased from each others' memory. I searched for this hope on my photo walks and it is my wish you will spot this hope throughout the zine.

Blending in is not disappearing reflects on the softening of edges, the arrival of summer in Toronto, and the experience of being apart from the ones you love for a long time.
